Be Kind To Your Face!

Skin Care! It is all the rave right now! It’s a race to turn back time and beat the clock! No one wants to age…or at least they don’t want to look like they are aging! And I’m guilty! I’ve always used some kind skin care…ever since junior high (what we called middle school…see I’m showing my age…lol!😉). My aunt was a director for Mark Kay at that time and I would work for her. I would go to her house after school a couple of times a week, help her unbox her inventory, put it away, organize make up…just whatever she needed help with. She would pay me in free make up/skin care! It was awesome! I “worked” for her all through high school too. I would go with her to her meetings and help her set up and tear down for her shows…and I loved it! Plus I got to hang out with her and I cherished that time! So I have always had a love of make up and skin care. I used Mary Kay forever (obviously) and loved everything about it, then I after having my first baby I switched to Arbonne. I actually tried to sell it…and that was a train wreck! lol! I am NOT a sales person, I quickly realized! My skin freaked out on me and I eventually switched to Clinique. I used it for a long time until I got tired of paying the crazy high prices. I also got tired of trying to use their website, which seemed to never work for me, which is super frustrating when you are out of something. And I get that sometimes you get what you pay for! But I went on the hunt to find something more affordable and just as good. I stumbled on to E.L.F.! It was actually because I saw it at target and the colors remind me of Clinique…and I thought…”oooh! Is Target selling Clinique?!?!” I bought a few skin care items and fell in love! I’ve been using it ever since. I got them same results at a fraction of the cost! And now I love their make up too! Their website is awesome…plus, if you are completely out of something…Walmart and Target carry the basics…so that’s a great selling point for me! It smells great, feels amazing on my skin and uses natural ingredients…which is awesome!

Since I’ve been using ELF for years…I felt like I needed to add something to my regiment. I’m getting fine lines under my eyes that like to collect make up by the end of the day. So I talked to a few of my friends and did a ton of research online. What I found was that I need to add Hyaluronic acid, some vitamin E and C. So here’s what I added:

Time Less serums…I’ll link them below. I am loving the results. It has helped with dark spots, acne, and wrinkles!

Matrixyl Synthe’6 Serum 1 oz

Timeless Skin Care 20% Vitamin C Plus E Ferulic Acid Serum, 1 oz.

Here’s my morning and night time routines!

This is what I do in the morning…it may look like alot but it’s really not.

  1. ELF Daily Face Cleanser
  2. Nutrogena toner
  3. Time Less Matrixyl Serum
  4. ELF Prep and Hydrate Balm
  5. ELF Daily Hydration Mosturizer
  6. ELF Illuminating Eye Cream (let this all set for a minute)
  7. ELF Poreless Face Primer
  8. ELF Under Eye Primer
  9. ELF BB Cream

Then I’ll apply make up and I’m good to go for the day!

This is what I do in the evening!

  1. Equate eye make up remover
  2. ELF Bounce Back Jelly Cleanser
  3. Nutrogena Toner
  4. Time Less Vitamin C and E serum
  5. ELF Prep and Hydrate Balm
  6. ELF Illuminating Eye Cream
  7. ELF Nourishing Night Cream
  8. Zapzyt (used to spot treat blemishes)

I use mask once a week and a scrub twice a week. I’ll do a post later on my home spa day!

Whatever regiment you use, as we age, be sure and be kind to your face. I’m hoping to age gracefully! That’s my goal! If you have any questions on why or how I do something, please reach out and let me know! Happy cleansing!
